History

The original backend was MS Access, but it was not stable or fast enough.  The port to Interbase took over 1 week, and was almost a complete rewrite (with lots of copy & pasting from the old code base).  The original design relied heavily on tables (instead of queries), which does not work well with SQL databases (like Interbase).
